On 30 June 2014 the Central Bank of Malta will issue two numismatic coins, in gold and in silver, depicting the Auberge d’Aragon. This will be the fourth in the Central Bank of Malta’s series of numismatic coins featuring the Auberges of the Knights of St John.

The Central Bank of Malta publishes the first issue of its Quarterly Review for 2014, which analyses economic and financial developments in Malta and abroad during the fourth quarter of 2013, while commenting on further developments in later months.

In 1998 the late Grand Master Fra Andrew Bertie generously donated a collection of coins of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, also known as the Sovereign Order of Malta (SMOM), to the Central Bank of Malta. The donation included coinage issued by the SMOM between 1960 and 1999.

On 3 June 2014, the Central Bank of Malta will issue a new euro coin set dated 2014. The set incorporates the eight Maltese euro coins as well as a €2 coin, commemorating the 1964 Independence Constitution which was adopted in September of that year when Malta acquired its independence from Britain and became a sovereign state.

On 23 May 2014 the Central Bank of Malta issued a silver coin commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the commencement of the First World War. The coin has a face value of €10. The Bank also issued a similar coin in a brass version with a face value of €5.
