On Wednesday 14 May 2014, the Central Bank of Malta and MaltaPost launched a joint product consisting of a numismatic silver coin and a silver stamp, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Malta’s Independence. This product also marks the start of a working relationship between the two institutions in the marketing and sales of the Bank’s numismatic and commemorative coin products.

The Central Bank of Malta has just released its Annual Report for 2013. The Report reviews the Bank’s policies and operations during the year and includes detailed financial statements.

The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) migration end-date Regulation (No 260/2012) had established 1 February 2014 as the date when national credit transfer and direct debit schemes in the Euro Area had to cease operation and be replaced by the new SEPA Credit Transfers (SCTs) and SEPA Direct Debits (SDDs) schemes.
