    Central Bank of Malta Quarterly Review – Second Issue 2014

    The Central Bank of Malta has published the second issue of its Quarterly Review for 2014, which analyses economic and financial developments in Malta and abroad during the first quarter of 2014 and highlights further developments in subsequent months. The Review also carries three brief analytical reports on developments in Malta’s structural unemployment, the cyclically adjusted fiscal balance and communicating uncertainty around inflation projections.

    Malta Independence 50th Anniversary

    On 15 September 2014 the Central Bank of Malta will issue a silver coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of Independence.

    Publication of Financial Stability Report 2013

    The Central Bank of Malta is publishing the sixth edition of its Financial Stability Report, covering the year 2013. The Report covers developments in the Maltese financial system, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities and evaluating the system’s resilience to such risks. The Report mainly concentrates on those banks which have significant links to the Maltese economy, referred to as the core domestic banks. Developments in the non-core domestic and international banks, as well as insurance companies and investment funds are analysed separately.

    The Central Bank of Malta publishes its biannual information on euro banknote counterfeiting in Malta for the first half of 2014.

    Issue of €2 Commemorative Coin - Malta Police Force Bicentenary

    The Central Bank of Malta will issue a €2 commemorative coin marking the 200th anniversary of the setting up of the Malta Police Force on Wednesday, 16 July 2014. To mark this occasion, the Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Professor Josef Bonnici, presented the commemorative coin to the Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Raymond Zammit.
