On 12 February 2014 the Central Bank of Malta issued a numismatic coin in gold and in silver commemorating the Maltese composer, Charles Camilleri (1931-2009), as part of the Europa Programme 2014 “European Composers”.

The Central Bank of Malta will be conducting a second survey on the finance and consumption patterns of households (Household Finance and Consumption Survey – HFCS) between January and May 2014 as part of a Eurosystem project aimed at collecting detailed and harmonised statistical information from households throughout the euro area.

On 17 January 2014, the Central Bank of Malta hosted a symposium at its premises in Valletta to introduce its coin issuance programme for 2014 and raise public awareness of the historical and cultural significance of the coins that will be minted in the course of the current year.
