Staff Social Club
As part of the Bank's policy to promote staff welfare, the Bank has set up the Central Bank of Malta Staff Social Club, which organises events and activities for employees and their families. Also, as part of the Bank's social commitment, the Central Bank of Malta's Staff Social Club carries out voluntary work and offers donations to charitable institutions.
The Social Club consists of three sub-committees:
- the Sports Committee
- the Religious Activities Committee
- the Cultural Activities Committee
- The Sports Committee organises the annual participation of the Bank's football team in the Malta Employees Sports Association (MESA) league and knock out. The Bank also has a volleyball team, which trains on a regular basis and participates in overseas activities. Other sports activities organised by the Committee include clay-pigeon shooting, badger karting and paintball. Bank employees also participate in the European Central Bank's sports activities, which include athletics, rowing and mountain biking.
- The Religious Activities Committee is entrusted with activities of a religious nature.
- The Cultural Activities Committee promotes awareness of Malta's historical and cultural heritage. It organises visits to places of interest in Malta, such as museums, exhibitions and other cultural attractions.
Other annual activities organised by the Bank's Staff Social Club include the Family Fun Day, the Summer Party, day trips to Gozo and Sicily, Wine Tasting, Blood Donation Drives, Quiz events, the Children's Christmas Party, karaoke and bowling nights.
