The Central Bank of Malta organises a wide variety of events which are open to the public. Some of the events are also streamed live on social media. When possible, the Bank uploads material related to the events onto this website, ranging from video recordings to the texts of speeches made and presentations. Please note that some of the events require prior registration and others are by invitation only.
Public lectures delve into an extensive range of topics including economics and finance, central banking law and institutional development, economic history, as well as art history and social behaviour.
Conferences and research symposia foster open discussion with relevant stakeholders, including academics and financial market representatives. Foreign experts from both policy institutions and academia are usually invited to share their views and expertise on the theme of the conference.

The Research Department of the Central Bank of Malta is organising a half-day virtual Research Workshop on Thursday 23 November 2023 wherein it is launching the Bank’s Annual Research Bulletin. The Bulletin is the Bank’s annual flagship research publication and is intended to showcase a selection of the Bank's research and make it available to a wider audience.

The 17th annual Dynare Conference will be held in person at the Central Bank of Malta, Valletta from 19th to 20th October 2023. The conference is organized by the Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Malta, together with DSGE-net, and the Dynare project at CEPREMAP.

At the Bank’s currency museum, visitors will have the opportunity to tour its splendid selection of coins and banknotes. A counterfeit expert will also give valuable information. The exhibition: “Coinage in Malta: 2,500 years of history” will be displayed at Polverista, the former gunpowder building. The Bank’s gardens will open exclusively for the night, offering a variety of attractions.

The Central Bank of Malta’s Financial Stability Report is the Central Bank’s flagship report on Malta’s financial stability. This seminar entitled Stability in a Changing Financial Landscape will focus on the Bank’s recently published 15th Financial Stability Report which covers the developments that took place in 2022 in the Maltese financial sector.
