Alleged leaks of confidential information
With reference to allegations made in the press on Sunday 14 June 2015, that a staff member of the Central Bank of Malta was involved in the leakage of confidential information, the Bank would like to affirm that, as it has done in the past, such serious allegations are being handled within the established rules and procedures and to date no disciplinary action has been taken.
However, the Bank has taken the necessary precautionary measures to protect its internal records to enable a fair and effective investigation.
