Currency exhibition organised by the Central Bank of Malta
The Central Bank of Malta is organising a currency exhibition between Thursday 2 May 2013 and Wednesday 15 May 2013. The exhibition will be held in the Polverista building situated at the Bank’s premises on St James Counterguard, Valletta.
The exhibition will trace the history of the official Maltese paper currency since 1914 and will allow those visiting the exhibition to see the new €5 “Europa Series” banknote that will be issued by the European Central Bank from 2 May 2013. Visitors will also have access to an audio-visual presentation on banknote production and an interactive game which highlights the security features of the euro banknote. Maltese decimal coinage, as well as a number of euro coin sets, will also be on display.
The exhibition will be open daily during weekdays from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
