This set incorporates the eight Maltese euro coins, designed by Noel Galea Bason and a €2 commemorative coin bearing the inscription ‘First Elected Representatives – 1849’. The latter coin was designed by Ganni Bonnici and is the first in a series of five €2 commemorative coins commemorating milestones in Malta’s constitutional history. The set also includes a replica coin of the Punic period. The commemorative coin was minted at the Royal Dutch Mint with a mintage of 50,000.
