Maria Christine Saliba is a Senior Economist within the Economic Analysis Department at the Central Bank of Malta. Before joining the Bank, she gained experience as a trainee at the ECB's Supply Side, Labour, and Surveillance Division within the Directorate General Economics as well as the European Commission within the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs.

In her current role, she is part of the Economic Projections and Conjunctural Analysis team, focusing on forecast evaluation, macroeconomic forecasts, and price dynamics. Her research interests include macroeconomics, inflation dynamics, international economics, supply disruptions, and forecasting methodologies. Maria Christine has published research on a variety of macroeconomic topics, including on the role of supply side shocks. She represents the Central Bank of Malta in European Central Bank (ECB) working groups namely the Expert Group on Model-Based Assessment of the Projections and the NIPE Expert Group.

Maria Christine holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Economics from the University of Malta and an MSc in International Economics and Finance from Newcastle University, where she graduated with Distinction.
