Warren Deguara is a Principal Economist in the Economic Projections and Conjunctural Analysis Office at the Central Bank of Malta. He is responsible for the Bank’s regular contact exercise with the industry and is the Bank’s reference person for firm related surveys. Mr Deguara was a member of the Bank’s team on the ECB’s Household Finance and Consumption Network and the team which represents the bank on the ECB’s expert group on distributional financial accounts, on which he has co-authored locally published studies. Mr Deguara’s research interest includes industrial economics and household finances. His recent publications focused on Maltese household’s finances and wealth, and the developments in the distribution of Maltese household wealth over time, as well as the impact of Brexit and climate change on local firms. He holds degrees in economics from the University of Malta and the University of York.
