During this visit, the Internal Audit team from the CBM held meetings with these representatives of the CBK as well as the Head of Internal Audit and Heads of other relevant areas, to assess and provide recommendations to address any weaknesses or areas of improvement in governance practices at the CBK.

Since the CBK is fully committed to further building and improving its institutional governance, guaranteeing a stable, transparent and secure financial system, with broad international support from its partners, such cooperation marked a historic moment for the CBK, given that it was the first time that such an audit was conducted by a Eurosystem National Central Bank.
Furthermore, this engagement constituted an important step for the CBK in fulfilling the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund, which confirms the CBK's commitment to implementing the highest standards of institutional management and control.
The CBK Governor expressed his most sincere thanks to the CBM team and the Acting Governor, for the assistance provided within the framework of this cooperation and welcomed the CBM's readiness to assist through similar cooperation engagements.
