Kurt Sant is a Senior Economist within the Economic Analysis Department of the Central Bank of Malta. He is a member of the Bank’s forecasting team, with his main responsibilities include the production of fiscal forecasts and conducting economic analyses pertinent to fiscal matters. He also conducts research on a broad range of topics. His research interests include aviation, tourism, welfare economics, data scraping as well as the use of machine learning techniques for economic analysis. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Malta and a master’s degree in economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
