Public Consultation on draft recast Regulation on investment fund statistics DEADLINE CLOSED

The European Central Bank (ECB) is initiating a public consultation on the draft recast Regulation regarding investment fund statistics. The consultation period will run from Monday 18 December 2023, until Monday 12 February 2024. The draft recast Regulation introduces new reporting requirements aimed at facilitating enhanced analysis of developments in investment funds. Key changes include (i) moving from quarterly to monthly reporting and (ii) collecting more granular data on instruments including stocks, flows, and security-by-security information.

Interested parties are invited to provide comments during this consultation period on the recast Regulation, which proposes amendments to Regulation (EU) No 1073/2013 of the ECB dated 18 October 2013, concerning statistics on the assets and liabilities of investment funds (recast) (ECB/2013/38). The feedback received during the consultation will be taken into consideration in the finalization of the recast Regulation. All comments, along with a feedback statement, will be made publicly available in the weeks following the conclusion of the consultation.

For additional details on the draft recast Regulation and instructions on how to submit comments, please visit the ECB website.

The Central Bank of Malta encourages interested stakeholders to participate in this public consultation and to provide comments directly to the ECB by not later than 12 February 2024, 24:00 CET.
