CBM and EIB Joint Conference - ‘Financing the Transition to a Carbon Neutral Economy'

The Central Bank of Malta and the European Investment Bank are hosting the hybrid conference 'Financing the Transition to a Carbon Neutral Economy'. 

The event will focus on investment needs and priorities for Malta following the COVID-19 pandemic, and on how structural adjustment of the economy undergoing the green and digital transition can make it more resilient facing the new shock. This conference brings together a group of economists, policymakers, as well as representatives from financial institutions and the business community.

After the opening remarks and the keynote speech, the results for Malta of the 2021 EIB Investment Survey will be presented, followed by a presentation by the Central Bank of Malta on the country's financial sector's exposure to climate-sensitive sectors. A high-level panel discussion on Getting Fit for 55 - the role of policy and green financing will close the event.
