Sarah Axiaq serves as Senior Economist Statistician within the Department of Statistics at the Central Bank of Malta. Since assuming this role in July 2018, she has developed specialized expertise in the analysis of the financial sector, with particular emphasis on insurance undertakings, pension schemes, and real estate lending. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research from the University of Malta, where she conducted research on tree-based machine learning techniques. Later, she also completed a Master of Science in Quantitative Finance from the University of London.
